Description

This is a drawing, too large to fit on my scanner so I'm sorry for the poor image quality, that I was asked to do in one of my college drawing classes. We were told to do a still-life, but the objections in the still-life had to personify us somehow. I chose a tea-cup and a PS3 controller. Part of the assignment was to show four different methods of shading; the boyfriend thought all of the different shaded segments looked funny together, so I broke them apart and mounted them to some black bristol board. I'll probably do some more work on this in the future, so there's more equal framing around the segments, but I'm in the middle of inking some panels for a comic book I'm working on. I know, excuses, excuses. I'll get around to it. :P

Love the Idea of using four different drawing styles together.
I kind of agree with what you did in separating the styles with a black frame,
I've seen something like that done before (although I couldn't say where)
but they did something just slightly different.  Instead of cutting the image to separate
the styles and moving them apart on a black matt, why not just make a black border over the image.
That way the image doesn't distort and wow out too much.  Just a thought and an idea. ;)
